Three Generations of General Contracting Experience

HONORING B. E. VAUGHAN

B. E. Vaughan & Son, Inc. has been building in the Piedmont area of North Carolina for over 60 years. B. E. Vaughan formed the company in 1955. B. E. worked as a cabinet maker at Sears & Roebuck and became interested in building houses. He began building smaller houses, but it was evident that B.E.'s attention to detail and hands-on approach were destined for greater things. These assets would enable him to start constructing custom homes, building one a year. B.E. employed a full-time crew who did everything from footings to trim work.

MEET RANDY VAUGHAN

B.E.'s son Randy worked with him when he could. He started taking the same hands-on approach and went full-time in 1970. Randy learned the business quite quickly, and the company grew and constructed multiple homes. Over a period of years, Randy took the company's direction on a different path, constructing commercial buildings and retrofitting homes using the same quality that was instilled in him when building custom homes. This diversification has sustained B. E. Vaughan & Son, Inc. through today.

Now a third-generation, general contractor John, will carry this tradition of quality construction into the future. The latest achievement for the company is becoming a certified HealthyBuilt Homes builder. "Building Green" means we practice sustainable, high-performance building strategies that make a home comfortable, healthy and affordable while reducing energy and water usage, promoting renewable energy use, and protecting the land where they build.
